To give the citizens the best services of Aadhaar card, the UIDAI on Monday listed out four services which you can avail quickly and easily. These services can help you avail various online services, lock/unlock Aadhaar card, mobile application, even for e-verification of Income Tax Return (ITR) filing. However, to avail these benefits, UIDAI says, you must register your mobile number. Currently, UIDAI does allow citizens to update their Aadhaar card, and even order for a reprint. But, the majority of services mentioned are available only when your accurate and current mobile number is seeded with Aadhaar.
UIDAI says, “Aadhaar registered mobile helps you avail below services easily & quickly:
1. Aadhaar Online Services
2. Aadhaar Authentication based services like e-verification of ITR, Online OPD appointments etc.
4. SMS alerts for Aadhaar services.”

Aadhaar Authentication services:
Aadhaar authentication provides an instant mechanism to prove your identity through online authentication. For example, after filing for ITR, you can e-verify it using Aadhaar card.
1. You have to visit the e-Filing portal on Income Tax Department website – incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
2. If your Aadhaar is not linked with PAN then link it
3. Click on e-verify link on the screen and select e-verify returns using Aadhaar OTP
4. Generate OTP, which will be received on your registered mobile number
5. Enter your OTP on e-Filing portal

The UIDAI’s mAadhaar app is generally meant for use by travellers at airports or Indian Railways. Generally while travelling one has to provide identity proof. Among major proofs are Permanent Account Number (PAN) card, passport or Aadhaar card. However, with mAadhaar you do not need to worry about carrying physical document. One can actually use mAadhaar as valid identity proof. All a citizen has to do is download the app.
The mAadhaar is built by UIDAI to provide an interface to Aadhaar Number Holders to carry their demographic information viz. Name, Date of Birth, Gender & Address along with photograph as linked with their Aadhaar Number in smart phones.
